Commissioner Josh Bergosh of Escambia County has unveiled the county's newest facility: a versatile pedestrian trail.
The latest addition to Perdido Key's infrastructure is a multi-use trail, part of a series of recently completed projects. The Perdido Key Multi-Use Path was deemed a top priority in the Perdido Key Master Plan, as well as in the 2018-2022 Pedestrian/Bicycle Master Plans of the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization. This initiative enhances connectivity on Perdido Key, promoting alternative modes of transportation like walking and biking. By introducing the Perdido Key Multi-Use Path, residents and tourists can easily navigate between residential, commercial, and recreational areas across Perdido Key.
The Perdido Key Multi-Use Path project incorporates a comprehensive wildlife mitigation program to safeguard critical habitats for endangered species.
For additional details regarding the construction progress of the eastern section of the Perdido Key Multi-Use Path, please refer to the Escambia County website.
